Beef and Broccoli

A classic dish featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli tossed in a savory sauce, perfect for a comforting family dinner.

  • 1 pound beef (flank steak or sirloin)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by slicing it against the grain into thin strips about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, and ginger for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Coat the marinated beef with cornstarch until lightly coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Stir-fry the beef in a single layer for 2-3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked.
  6. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
  7. Bring the beef back to the skillet, add beef broth, and cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes until beef is cooked through and sauce has thickened.
  8. Adjust seasoning with more soy sauce or sugar if needed.

Notes

This dish is great served over steamed rice. Feel free to add extra vegetables or adjust seasoning to your taste.
