Chicken Kofta with Garlic Yogurt Sauce

A flavorful chicken kofta recipe paired with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for any dinner gathering.

  • 1 pound Ground Chicken
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • Olive Oil, for brushing
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh Dill, optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the Kofta Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix everything until just combined.
  2. Shape the Kofta: With damp hands, take a handful of the mixture and shape it into oblong meatballs, about 2-3 inches long. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  3. Chill the Kofta: Once shaped, let them chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and dill if using. Stir until smooth.
  5. Cook the Kofta: Preheat your grill or oven to 375°F. Brush the kofta lightly with olive oil and cook for about 10-12 minutes on the grill or 25-30 minutes in the oven.
  6. Serve Hot: Once done, let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider serving with warm pita bread or basmati rice. A cucumber and tomato salad pairs well too.
