Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking pan: Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Whisk the wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Combine the mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and level it out with a spatula.
  7. Mix the cinnamon sugar topping and sprinkle it over the batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Slice and serve with coffee, tea, or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

This bread can be frozen for up to three months. Wrap it tightly and thaw at room temperature when ready to enjoy.
