Cowboy Butter is the kind of sauce that turns any meal into a flavor-packed feast. Rich, garlicky, herby, and zesty, it’s perfect as a dip for steak, chicken, shrimp, or veggies—or slathered over grilled corn and crusty bread. Whether you’re hosting or just treating yourself, this sauce brings big, bold flavor in just minutes.
1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp lemon zest
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp chopped fresh chives
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Salt & black pepper to taste
Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
Stir in garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant (don’t brown it).
Remove from heat. Whisk in Dijon mustard, lemon juice, zest, and all seasonings.
Stir in chopped herbs last for a fresh finish.
Serve warm as a dipping sauce or brush it over meats, seafood, or veggies.
