2 baguettes, sliced into 24–30 rounds
16 oz brie cheese, sliced into thin pieces
2 cups cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (twist: drizzle for sweetness)
1 tsp orange zest (twist: adds brightness to the cranberry topping)
¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted (optional, for crunch)
Fresh thyme or rosemary, for garnish
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush with olive oil. Toast 7–8 minutes until golden.
Top each toasted slice with a piece of brie. Return to oven for 2–3 minutes, just until the cheese begins to soften.
In a small bowl, stir cranberry sauce with orange zest. Spoon a small dollop onto each crostini.
Drizzle lightly with honey or maple syrup, then sprinkle with toasted nuts if desired.
Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary and serve warm.
