Creamy Beef Pasta

A comforting and delicious creamy beef pasta dish that will bring back nostalgic family memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Sauté the onion in olive oil over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until translucent, then add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  3. Brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Create the creamy sauce by pouring in the heavy cream and simmering to thicken. Adjust the consistency with reserved pasta water if necessary.
  5. Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined into the sauce.
  6. Combine the drained pasta with the creamy beef sauce and toss to coat well.
  7. Serve the creamy beef pasta in bowls, garnished with extra Parmesan and fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with sautéed mushrooms and lentils. Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce for enhanced flavor.
