A quick and delicious take on traditional egg rolls, this bowl combines flavorful ground meat with colorful veggies in a savory soy and sesame sauce.

  • 1 lb ground pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 4 cups cabbage slaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce, tamari, or coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Additional sliced green onions and chili flakes for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by gathering and prepping all your components.
  2. Heat a large skillet or stir-fry pan and add about 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the ground meat for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced onion. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss in the cabbage slaw mix and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  6. Flavor the mixture with soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Finish by adding sliced green onions and sesame seeds, mixing well.
  8. Serve the mixture in bowls, garnishing with extra green onions and sesame seeds.
