Mongolian Beef and Broccoli Noodles

A cozy bowl of tender beef, crisp broccoli, and silky noodles drizzled with a savory, slightly sweet sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 ounces noodles (lo mein or rice noodles)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Green onions, sliced for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by slicing the beef against the grain and mincing the garlic and ginger.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and lightly toss with oil.
  3. Stir-Fry the beef in a large pan over medium-high heat until browned, about 4-6 minutes total.
  4. Sauté the garlic and ginger in the same pan until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Add the broccoli florets, a couple of tablespoons of water, cover, and steam for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Create the sauce by mixing soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch until smooth, then pour over the broccoli.
  7. Bring the cooked beef back into the pan, toss gently with the broccoli and sauce.
  8. Mix in your cooked noodles, ensuring they soak up the sauce.
  9. Plate and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

If sauce is too thin, mix more cornstarch with water to thicken. Noodles can be prepped in advance for quick meals.
