Salted Caramel Apple Hand Pies

Buttery, golden pastry pockets filled with tender cinnamon apples and gooey salted caramel—these hand pies are cozy, portable, and made for sharing. Think classic apple pie, but way more fun to eat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup caramel sauce

Flaky sea salt (for topping)

For the Dough:

1 package refrigerated pie crust (or homemade, if you prefer)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

Make the Filling: Toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and salt. Stir in caramel sauce.

Assemble the Pies: Roll out dough and cut into 4- to 5-inch circles. Spoon a bit of filling onto each, fold over, and crimp edges with a fork.

Chill: Place pies in the fridge for 15 mins while oven preheats to 375°F (190°C).

Bake: Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar, and cut a small slit for steam. Bake 20–25 mins until golden.

Finish: Let cool slightly, then drizzle extra caramel and a pinch of sea salt on top.
