½ teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

6 cups beef broth (low sodium preferred)

½ cup dry white wine (optional)

1 bay leaf

For Serving:

1 baguette, sliced and toasted

2 cups shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese

Instructions
