Smoked Sausage and Peppers Skillet

A comforting and hearty dish of smoked sausage sautéed with sweet peppers and onions, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium heat, until shimmering.
  2. Toss in the sliced smoked sausage in a single layer, cooking without stirring for 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned.
  3. Add in the sliced onion and bell pepper, stirring together and letting them cook for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  4. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, tossing everything to combine and sauté for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley if using, and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to add sliced jalapeños for heat or switch the sausage for chicken or shrimp for a different flavor.
