2 loaves (28 oz total) French or Italian bread, sliced in half horizontally

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

12 garlic cloves, finely chopped (or 3 tbsp minced garlic)

4 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

½ tsp salt (or to taste)

3 cups shredded mozzarella

1 cup finely grated Parmesan

1 tsp dried parsley (for garnish)

Optional Flavor Twists:

Add ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes for heat

Mix in 2 tbsp cream cheese or mayo for a creamier spread

Top with chopped chives or a drizzle of garlic oil after baking

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.

Make garlic butter: In a bowl, combine softened butter, garlic, salt, and fresh parsley. Mix well.

Assemble bread: Spread garlic butter mixture over each bread half. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan evenly.

Bake: Place bread halves on the baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
