These Baked Shrimp & Goat Cheese Snowflake Puffs are the showstopping appetizer your holiday spread needs. Delicate puff pastry is cut into snowflake shapes and filled with a rich combo of tangy goat cheese and lemon-herb shrimp—then baked until golden and crisp. They’re light, savory, and irresistibly fancy-looking, but secretly easy to make. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or a festive starter that brings big flavor in a beautiful bite.
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz goat cheese, softened
1 tsp lemon zest
1 tbsp cream or milk (to loosen the cheese)
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
½ cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp chopped parsley or thyme
1 egg (for egg wash)
Optional: sesame seeds or flake salt for garnish
Prepare the Filling
Mix goat cheese, lemon zest, garlic powder, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth. In a separate bowl, toss chopped shrimp with olive oil and herbs. Fold shrimp into the goat cheese mixture.
Cut the Pastry
Roll out puff pastry and use a snowflake cookie cutter to cut matching pairs. Place half on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Assemble
Spoon a small amount of filling into the center of each base snowflake. Top with another snowflake cutout, pressing edges to seal. Brush with egg wash.
Bake
Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Serve Warm
Garnish with flake salt or fresh herbs and serve warm for best flavor.
