Bat Cupcakes

Delightfully fun bat-themed cupcakes perfect for Halloween or any gathering, rich in chocolate flavor and creativity.

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup jam or Nutella
  • 1 cup chocolate cream (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your cupcake pans by lining them with cupcake liners.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold gently.
  6. Fill your cupcake liners about 2/3 of the way full.
  7. Add a teaspoon of Nutella or jam into the center of each filled cupcake.
  8. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  10. Whip up the frosting until fluffy and smooth.
  11. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously.
  12. Garnish with bat toppers.

Notes

These cupcakes can be served directly on a platter, arranged on a decorative cake stand, or packaged in clear cupcake boxes for favors.
