Delightfully sweet and fluffy Maple Cinnamon Rolls drizzled with maple syrup, perfect for cozy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Maple syrup for drizzling
  • Powdered sugar for glaze (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (optional for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy and bubbly.
  2. Make the dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and salt. Once your yeast is active, add that mixture to the bowl. Slowly mix in the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough starts to come together.
  3. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise: Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1-2 hours.
  5. Prepare the filling: While your dough is rising, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  6. Roll it out: When your dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Add the filling: Brush melted butter over the rolled-out dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the surface.
  8. Roll it up: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log and slice it into 1-inch pieces.
  9. Second rise: Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven: While they’re rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake: Once they’ve risen, bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  12. Glaze it: If using the powdered sugar glaze, mix the powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over the rolls.
  13. Final touch: Drizzle maple syrup atop the warm rolls just before serving.
