Bruschetta

A classic Italian appetizer made with toasted baguette topped with a refreshing mixture of diced tomatoes, basil, and garlic.

  • 1 French baguette
  • 2 cups tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the French baguette into ½-inch thick slices.
  3. Spread baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  4. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Chop the tomatoes into small, even dice and place into a bowl.
  6. Add minced garlic and chopped basil to the tomatoes. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Stir well.
  7. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each toasted slice of bread.
  8. Drizzle with extra olive oil and balsamic vinegar if desired.
  9. Serve immediately for the best experience.
