Classic Bruschetta

A classic Italian appetizer featuring toasted baguette topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic. Perfect for gatherings or a delightful snack!

  • 1 French baguette
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the baguette into about 1/2-inch thick slices.
  2. Toast the bread in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Prepare the tomato mixture by tossing diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, and olive oil in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble the bruschetta by spooning the tomato mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.
  5. Garnish with extra basil leaves or parmesan cheese, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Let the tomato mixture sit for a few minutes to meld the flavors before assembling. Serve with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar for added flavor.
