Bruschetta

A delicious Italian appetizer featuring toasted baguette topped with fresh tomatoes and basil.

  • 1 French baguette
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the French baguette diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  3. Toast the bread by arranging the slices on a baking sheet and brushing each slice lightly with olive oil. Toast for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the tomato topping by combining diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, remaining olive oil, and seasoning in a bowl.
  5. Assemble the bruschetta by topping each toasted slice with a generous spoonful of the tomato mixture.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.

Notes

Bruschetta is best enjoyed fresh, but you can prepare the topping in advance and toast the bread right before serving.
