Bruschetta

A traditional Italian appetizer made with fresh tomatoes, basil, and toasted bread, perfect for any meal or gathering.

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or grill to medium heat.
  2. Prepare the baguette by slicing it into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  3. Toast the bread in the oven for 5-7 minutes or on the grill for 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  4. Mix diced tomatoes, minced garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl; let sit for flavors to meld.
  5. Assemble by spooning the tomato mixture onto toasted bread slices.
  6. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar if desired.
  7. Serve immediately while the bread is still crispy.
