Classic Stuffed Peppers

A hearty and cozy dish combining ground meat, rice, and spices, all wrapped in vibrant bell peppers.

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the peppers by slicing the tops off and removing the seeds.
  3. Sauté the onion in olive oil for 3-4 minutes, then add the garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Cook the ground meat until no longer pink, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Mix in the rice and diced tomatoes, simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Stuff each pepper with the mixture, pressing down to fill them up.
  7. Bake the stuffed peppers in a dish with a little water for 25-30 minutes, covered in foil.
  8. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until tender.

Notes

You can experiment with various fillings and topping options. Serve warm with herbs or sour cream.
