Creepy Halloween Skull Cupcakes

Delicious chocolate cupcakes topped with fluffy white frosting and creepy decorations for a spooktacular Halloween treat.

  • 1 batch of chocolate cupcake batter (about 12 cupcakes)
  • White frosting
  • Chocolate chips or candy eyes
  • Black decorating gel
  • Sugar skull decorations (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare your chocolate cupcake batter according to your recipe or box instructions.
  3. Pour equal portions of batter into each cupcake liner, filling them about 2/3 full.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool the cupcakes in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  6. Frost the cooled cupcakes with white frosting using an offset spatula or piping bag.
  7. Place two chocolate chips or candy eyes on each cupcake.
  8. Use black decorating gel to create little mouths or cracks.
  9. Add sugar skull decorations on top if desired.
  10. Serve your spooky cupcakes on a festive tray.
