Apple Pie Cupcakes

Delightful cupcakes infused with all the comforting flavors of your favorite apple pie.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup apple, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a cupcake or muffin tin with paper liners.
  3. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  4. Cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg and then the milk, mixing well.
  6. Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  8. Fill the liners about 2/3 full with batter.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool the cupcakes in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For added flavor, consider drizzling cupcakes with caramel sauce before serving.
