Easy Halloween Ghost Cupcakes

Delightful spooky cupcakes decorated to look like adorable little ghosts, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 batch of vanilla buttercream frosting
  • Mini chocolate chips for eyes
  • White fondant or marshmallows for ghosts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a standard cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  3. Mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a large bowl with an electric mixer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cupcakes for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare the buttercream frosting in a separate bowl by beating butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  8. Frost the cooled cupcakes with the buttercream.
  9. Create the ghosts by placing halved marshmallows or fondant shapes on top of the frosting.
  10. Add mini chocolate chips or black icing for eyes.
