Apple Entremet

A beautifully layered apple entremet that captures the spirit of autumn with its delightful flavors and stunning presentation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Apples (a mix of tart and sweet)
  • 1 cup Sugar (granulated)
  • ½ cup Butter (unsalted)
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 2 cups Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup Caramel Sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare your cake batter: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully blended before adding the next.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add this to your wet mixture.
  4. Apple filling: Peel, core, and slice your apples thinly. In a medium pan, melt a couple of tablespoons of butter over medium heat, then add the sugar and sliced apples. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Layer your cake: Pour half of your batter into the prepared cake pans, top with half of the sautéed apples, then add the rest of the batter and finish with remaining apples.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes.
  7. Whip the cream in a chilled bowl until soft peaks form.
  8. Build the entremet: Layer your cooled cake, spread whipped cream, drizzle caramel, and repeat.
