Easy Fig Jam Recipe

A delightful homemade fig jam recipe bursting with flavor and memories, perfect for spreading on toast or topping cheese.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Figs (2 pounds)
  • Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
  • Fresh Lemon Juice (1/4 cup)
  • Water (1/2 cup)
  • Salt (a pinch)

Instructions

  1. Prep the figs: Rinse under cool water, pat dry, and chop into quarters or eighths.
  2. Cook it down: In a pot, combine figs, sugar, lemon juice, and water. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  3. Bring to a simmer: Place the pot over medium heat and stir occasionally.
  4. Stir and mash: As it cooks, mash the figs slightly and simmer for 30–45 minutes.
  5. Check consistency: Drop a spoonful on a plate to test; if it holds shape, it’s ready!
  6. Jar it up: Cool for 10 minutes, then pour into sterilized jars and seal.

Notes

For longer preservation, process jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
