Oreo Spider Cupcakes

Delightful Oreo Spider Cupcakes that are perfect for Halloween or any fun occasion! These chocolate cupcakes are topped with frosting, Oreos, and candy eyes for a spooky treat.

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 1 tub chocolate frosting
  • 810 candy eyes
  • Black licorice strips (for legs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the batter. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Use an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  3. Fill your cupcake liners. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill them about 2/3 full with the batter.
  4. Bake the cupcakes. Pop them in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool them down. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Frost like a champion. Once cooled, generously slather your chocolate frosting on top of each cupcake.
  7. Add the Oreos. For our spider, take an Oreo and gently press it into the frosting at an angle.
  8. Create the spider legs. Cut the black licorice into strips and gently insert them on each side of the Oreo.
  9. Finish with candy eyes. Finally, place two candy eyes on top of the Oreo, pushing them slightly into the frosting.
