Witches’ Fingers Treats

Delightfully spooky Witches’ Fingers cookies that are perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sliced almonds
  • Red gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, and mix well.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the butter-sugar mixture.
  5. Chill the dough in plastic wrap for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Shape the dough into log shapes and press almond slices onto the tips.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack and apply red gel food coloring for a spooky effect.

Notes

Chill the dough longer if it seems sticky. Ensure butter is softened but not melted to avoid spread during baking.
