Italian Style Hamburger Steak

A comforting twist on classic hamburger steak with juicy patties, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties, about 1-inch thick.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil and sear the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Place the browned patties in a baking dish and cover with marinara sauce.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top of the patties.
  7. Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Serve with garlic bread or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
