Classic Bruschetta

A traditional Italian appetizer featuring toasted bread topped with a flavorful mix of fresh tomatoes, basil, and olive oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 Fresh Tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup Basil Leaves, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 loaf Toasted Bread (Italian or whole grain)
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the Tomatoes: Wash and dice the tomatoes, removing seeds to prevent sogginess.
  2. Chop the Basil: Roll and slice the basil leaves into thin ribbons (chiffonade).
  3. Mix Ingredients: Combine the tomatoes and basil with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Prepare the Bread: Slice the bread, drizzle with olive oil, and preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Toast the Bread: Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  6. Assemble and Serve: Spoon the tomato mixture onto warm bread and drizzle with extra olive oil.

Notes

Serve bruschetta immediately for the best texture. You can grill the bread instead of toasting if desired.
