Classic Italian Bruschetta

A classic Italian appetizer featuring fresh tomatoes, basil, and crusty bread for a delightful taste of summer.

  • 6 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 baguette, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tomatoes by washing and dicing them into small cubes. Place in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the minced garlic and chopped basil to the tomatoes, and stir gently.
  3. Drizzle the mixture with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper.
  4. Let the mixture marinate for 10-15 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Prepare the baguette by slicing it into 1/2 inch pieces and toasting them if desired.
  6. Assemble the Bruschetta by spooning the tomato mixture onto each slice of baguette. Serve immediately.
