Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cheese (optional)
  • 4 Burger Buns
  • Lettuce, Tomato, Onion (optional)
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Grill or Skillet: Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Form the Patties: Lightly form the beef into loose balls—about 3-4 ounces each.
  3. Season Generously: Sprinkle salt and pepper on each beef ball.
  4. Start the Smash: Place the beef balls on the hot grill, and smash each down to about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Let It Sizzle: Cook the patties without moving for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip and Finish: Once crispy, flip the burgers and cook for another minute or two.
  7. Toast the Buns: Slice and toast buns cut side down for about a minute.
  8. Assemble Your Masterpiece: Remove burgers from the grill and place on buns, adding desired toppings.

Notes

For a gourmet twist, use arugula and aioli instead of lettuce and tomato.
