Cheesy Easy Scalloped Potatoes

A creamy and cheesy delight made with layered potatoes, perfect for family gatherings and comforting meals.

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or dill)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the potatoes by washing and peeling them. Slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
  3. Make the creamy sauce by melting butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Stir until warm.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish, adding salt and pepper between layers, and pouring the warm cream mixture and cheese after every 2-3 layers.
  5. Bake covered with aluminum foil for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Feel free to modify the cheeses used and add garlic or herbs for extra flavor.
