Classic Tomato Bruschetta

A simple yet elegant Italian appetizer made with crispy toasted bread topped with a vibrant mixture of fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic.

Ingredients

  • Baguette or Italian bread
  • Fresh tomatoes, diced
  • Fresh basil, chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare your bread by slicing it into ½-inch thick pieces.
  3. Toast the bread slices on a baking sheet with olive oil and salt for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Mix the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Taste the mixture and adjust seasonings or add balsamic vinegar as desired.
  6. Assemble the bruschetta by spooning the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread.
  7. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, if using.
  8. Serve immediately for best taste.
