A comforting blend of juicy hamburger patties and rich mushroom gravy, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour for coating
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Coat the Patties: Lightly coat each patty with flour.
  4. Sear the Patties: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Remove and Rest: Once done, remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Make the Mushroom Gravy: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and sauté the sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes.
  7. Create the Gravy Base: Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir, then gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring until thickened.
  8. Add Cream: Stir in the cream and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  9. Bring it All Together: Gently place the seared patties back into the skillet, spoon some mushroom gravy over them, and let them bask in the sauce for a minute.
  10. Serve: Plate each patty with a generous ladle of rich mushroom gravy on top.
