Low-Sugar Apple Pork Chop Skillet

A comforting dish that pairs pork chops with sweet-tart apples, all without added sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  2. Season the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the Olive Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sear the Pork Chops: Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for about 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Add the Onions: Stir in the sliced onions and let them cook for a minute or two.
  6. In with the Apples and Thyme: Toss in the apple slices and thyme along with the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Finish Cooking: Cover the skillet and let it cook for about 10 minutes to ensure the pork is cooked through.
  8. Rest Before Serving: Take off the heat and let the pork rest in the pan for about 5 minutes before serving.
