Sugar-Free Braised Apple Cabbage

A vibrant side dish that blends earthy red cabbage with sweet-tart apples and a splash of apple cider vinegar.

  • 1/2 head red cabbage, sliced
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Wash and slice the cabbage into thin strips and slice the apple.
  2. Sauté the cabbage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add the cabbage and sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the apple slices: Stir into the cabbage and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the vinegar and seasonings: Pour in the apple cider vinegar, add caraway seeds, salt, and pepper, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning as needed.
