A sweet and spiced roasted apple dish that captures the essence of autumn.

  • 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare a large baking dish and coat it generously with butter.
  3. Mix together the honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Slice the apples into quarters, removing the core, and transfer them to the prepared baking dish.
  5. Drizzle the honey mixture over the apple slices, ensuring they’re well coated.
  6. Dot with small pieces of butter over the apples.
  7. Roast for about 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  8. Check for doneness; the apples should be tender and caramelized.
  9. Serve immediately, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For added texture, consider adding chopped nuts or dried cranberries. Adjust roasting times if using different fruits.
