Chewy and delightful Avalanche Cookies that combine peanut butter and oats with customizable add-ins for a cozy treat.

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crunchy nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the rolled oats and stir until well coated.
  4. Incorporate the chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and crunchy nuts gently.
  5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers look set.
  7. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a fun twist, consider mixing in dried fruits or using different nut butters.
