Loaded Ground Beef Nachos

  • 2 cups cooked ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes or 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • Toppings: jalapeños, cilantro, avocado, sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic in a skillet with olive oil until fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it up, and cook for about 5 minutes until warmed through.
  4. Mix in the diced tomatoes or tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Prepare a layer of tortilla chips on a baking sheet.
  6. Load the beef mixture over the chips, then sprinkle with cheese.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.
  8. Top with your favorite toppings and serve.
