Refreshing Watermelon Sticks

A simple and delightful recipe for refreshing watermelon sticks, perfect for summer snacks and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Large Watermelon
  • Fresh Mint (optional)
  • Lime Juice (optional)
  • Chili Powder (optional)
  • Sea Salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Select and Chill the Watermelon: Begin by picking out the perfect watermelon. For optimal flavor, chill it in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.
  2. Wash and Dry: Once your watermelon is chilled and ready, rinse it gently under cool water to remove any dirt or debris. Pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  3. Cut Off Both Ends: Using a sharp knife, trim about half an inch from both ends of the watermelon.
  4. Stand It Up: Place the watermelon upright on one end on a cutting board.
  5. Slice into Quarters: Cut down through the center of the watermelon, creating two halves, and then cut each half into quarters.
  6. Remove the Rind: Slice between the flesh and the rind to separate them.
  7. Cut into Sticks: Cut each wedge into long stick shapes, about half an inch thick.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh mint, lime juice, chili powder, or sea salt over the watermelon sticks and arrange them on a platter.

Notes

Watermelon sticks are best enjoyed fresh but can last up to three days in the refrigerator.
