Classic Bruschetta

A vibrant and delightful Italian appetizer featuring fresh tomatoes, basil, and olive oil on crunchy toasted bread.

Ingredients

  • Baguette or Italian Bread
  • Fresh Tomatoes (Roma or Heirloom)
  • Fresh Basil Leaves
  • Garlic Clove
  • Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  • Balsamic Vinegar (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette diagonally into ½-inch thick slices.
  2. Place the slices on a baking sheet, brushing each side lightly with olive oil.
  3. Toast the bread for about 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy, turning halfway through.
  4. Chop your tomatoes roughly and combine them in a bowl with minced garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on each toasted slice of bread.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar if desired and serve immediately.
