Crock Pot Hamburger and Onions

A cozy comfort food recipe featuring hamburger patties slowly cooked with caramelized onions in a Crock Pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger patties
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Prep the onions: Start by dicing your large onion.
  2. Brown the hamburger patties: Brown the patties in a skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. Layer it up: Create a bed with half of the diced onions in the Crock Pot, place the browned hamburger patties on top, and sprinkle the remaining onions over the meat.
  4. Season it: Generously sprinkle salt and pepper over the patties.
  5. Cook time: Cover the Crock Pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Melt the cheese: Add cheese slices on top of the patties 10 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Remove patties and onions from the Crock Pot, plate them up, and scoop out some onion juices.

Notes

This dish can be served on a bun, over mashed potatoes, or with steamed veggies. Feel free to customize with additional spices and vegetables as desired.
